MARCH BREAK ART CAMP
Registrations for the March Break Art Camp 2026 are now open! From Monday, March 2 to Friday, March 6, 2026, children aged 6 to 12 will explore a variety of exciting art projects that stimulate their creativity and sense of initiative in a caring and inclusive atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming your children!
Since 2023, the ArtLab collaborates with the Bishop’s University Office of Sustainable Development to offer our March Break Art campers five days of activities under the theme Art and Nature.
The rhythm of a day at camp consists of periods of self-directed art making, time for walking and free play in nature, and guided art workshops. The theme Art and Nature is approached from different angles depending on the time spent outdoors or the activities taking place in the studio. Our intention is to offer all campers a lively experience of nature and an artistic exploration that comes with it!

WEEKLY THEME
Please note that from this year onwards, registration will be by day.
Creating the Now: Contemporary Art
Who wouldn’t want to better understand contemporary art? What if your child taught you about it? The Foreman Art Gallery’s March Break Art Camp proposes to demystify half a century of art history through a creative and experiential approach, drawing inspiration from artistic movements from the 1970s to today. Through influential figures and by building bridges with today’s society, we will revisit the history of contemporary art. Over the course of a week, children will immerse themselves in the spirit of different eras while creating with their own hands.
DAILY THEME
Day 1: Tell me your story
Today children will express themselves through moments of introspection drawing inspiration from artists whose practice are informed by their personal experiences. They will be encouraged to find what makes them unique, and articulate their interests, dreams and internal worlds through creation.
Day 2: Art goes outside
Is art limited to the gallery walls? Is the confinement of a gallery space an indicator of an artist’s success? Today, we will discover that it isn’t, by treating the outside like our museum! Discover the potentials of land art and installation, and how art can elevate our public spaces by using nature and architecture as our canvas.
Day 3: The artist as a researcher
Did you know that many artists have contributed to scientific and social advancements, by being part of research teams or divulging knowledge in a captivating way? Today, we will explore the intersection between art, curiosity and knowledge! Find out the unconventional ways you can use science to create.
Day 4: Art and everyday life
Blurring the boundaries between art and other spheres of life is at the heart of many contemporary artistic practices. Now, it’s the children’s turn to create artworks inspired by everyday life. By taking a fresh look at the simplest things, which might otherwise seem mundane, they will be able to amplify their sense of wonder.
Day 5: Creating together
The image of the “solitary genius” is a recent invention, born during the Romantic period. Before that, artists often worked collaboratively, and this is still the case today, with many artists coming together to work as a collective. Today, we’re going to explore different models of collaborative artistic creation processes used by artists since the 1970s!
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
If a reservation for a day of camp is canceled seven days or more before the start of that week, the fees will be refunded, except for 20% of the total registration price for administrative costs.
No refunds are granted for cancellations made less than seven days prior to the start of the week of registration, unless the cancellation is made for medical reasons, in which case a doctor’s note is required and the fee is refunded in full.
