Bill Burns –

March 2023

This morning I had a fantastic meeting with Pascale Déry who is collaborating with me on some costumes. I showed Pascale my work in progress for a Honey Bee Apparatus. I made it entirely out of bottles and cans and a duster I found here in Toronto (except the can that came from Sherbrooke). One of the unintended outcomes is that I have been thinking of ways to experience life as an animal. I’m thinking about how a bee keeps its balance with its big wings and big eyes. Pascale and I will be making costumes for a bee (in development) as well as a dairy goat and a donkey costume. There is a plan to make a video about how to wear the equipment properly as well. Here are a couple pictures of the Bee in progress. Pascale is a marvel, I will be working directly with her in her studio in April.
