PLAN YOUR VISIT

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We offer visitors a 45-minutes guided tour of the Foreman Gallery exhibition, tailored to their level of knowledge, followed by a 45-minutes creative workshop, for a total of 1:30 hours. The fee is $5.00 per participant for the workshop. You can choose to do only the guided tour without the workshop free of cost. During the visit, a member of our team will introduce the group to the Foreman Art Gallery and then to the current exhibition, detailing the practice of the selected artist(s) and the works on view. Creative workshops are designed by our team to explore in greater depth the themes, techniques and/or materials to which participants will have been introduced during the visit.

Before the visit, our team will e-mail you an educational kit to enable you to prepare your group. The kit will contain information about the exhibition, including the artist, curator, themes and key words. You’ll find a glossary of interesting terms to explore in class, as well as a simple extension activity, different from the workshop, that will continue participants’ reflection on the themes, techniques and/or materials seen.

OUR TEAM AND SPACE

As warm and welcoming as we are, our team, like our premises, is small! The ArtLab team generally consists of two members: the coordinator and the intern. We’ll do our best to get back to you as soon as possible at artlab@ubishops.ca, but please be considerate! The ArtLab space seats approximately 20 to 25 people. If your group exceeds our capacity, please choose the double-group option for the guided tour accompanied by the creative workshop, or reserve more than one time slot for the guided tour only.

If you wish to book for more than one group, we ask you to indicate the contact details of each person in charge, and we would appreciate receiving confirmation from them that they are aware of all the above information.

SCHEDULE

Our fall (September 6 to December 14, 2024) and winter (January 18 to March 15 & April 3 to April 12, 2025) availabilities are posted in the calendar on the form. For the spring (April 26 to July 5, 2025) period, our availabilities are not yet known. If you would like to plan a visit during this time, we invite you to select your preferred date and time in the calendar. If you have more than one preference, you can indicate them in writing in one of the questions on the form reserved for this purpose. Once our availability is known, we will contact you to confirm your visit.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

On receipt of your visit request form, we will send you an automatic message confirming that the time slot has been reserved for your group. We will send you a quotation request as soon as possible, constituting a commitment on both sides. The invoice will be sent to you in the days following your visit.
