L\u2019exposition <i>Intuition <\/i>atteste de cette pers\u00e9v\u00e9rance \u00e0 vouloir mat\u00e9rialiser une id\u00e9e qui, initialement, peut sembler abstruse et donc difficile \u00e0 communiquer. Il est tout aussi exigeant de se hasarder \u00e0 retracer pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment la gen\u00e8se d\u2019une \u0153uvre, de s&rsquo;\u00e9vertuer \u00e0 justifier ses choix de fa\u00e7on objective ou bien de s\u2019ing\u00e9nier \u00e0 expliquer une \u00e9piphanie. Car, comme l\u2019affirmait l\u2019\u00e9crivain Maurice Maeterlinck, d\u00e8s que l\u2019on met quelque chose en mots, \u00e9trangement, on le d\u00e9value. Ce laur\u00e9at du prix Nobel de litt\u00e9rature parvient paradoxalement \u00e0 illustrer cette id\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019une image d\u2019une limpidit\u00e9 toute cristalline : il imagine quelqu\u2019un plongeant au plus profond des abysses avec l\u2019intention d\u2019en \u00e9merger les mains pleines du tr\u00e9sor qui y scintille. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019une fois remont\u00e9 \u00e0 la surface que le plongeur s\u2019aper\u00e7oit qu\u2019il ne tient au creux de ses mains que breloques et \u00e9clats de verre. Pourtant, le tr\u00e9sor continue de briller dans l&rsquo;obscurit\u00e9 sans en \u00eatre le moindrement alt\u00e9r\u00e9. 1<\/p>\n<p>Le tr\u00e9sor de Maeterlinck propose une interpr\u00e9tation all\u00e9gorique de l\u2019intuition cr\u00e9ative. \u0152uvrant telle une force tranquille \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de soi, l&rsquo;intuition y fait na\u00eetre id\u00e9es, solutions et plans d&rsquo;action en dehors des balises impos\u00e9es par la raison. Or, lorsqu\u2019on tente d\u2019ext\u00e9rioriser ce processus d\u00e9cisionnel en le verbalisant, on prive l\u2019intuition de la conviction instinctive qui la caract\u00e9rise, puisque la communication engendre n\u00e9cessairement la rationalisation de la pens\u00e9e. Accepter de se laisser guider par son intuition n\u00e9cessite de la confiance, car cela exige d&#8217;embrasser l\u2019inconnu et d\u2019aller \u00e0 l\u2019encontre des conventions, et m\u00eame de prendre le contrepoint de ce que commande sa propre raison.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9alisations artistiques qui composent la 23e\u00a0exposition des finissantes et finissants en beaux-arts de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Bishop\u2019s positionnent l\u2019intuition comme le d\u00e9nominateur commun au sein du processus cr\u00e9atif de cette pl\u00e9iade de jeunes artistes. La dimension h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8ne de cette exposition, port\u00e9e par la disparit\u00e9 des th\u00e9matiques abord\u00e9es, ainsi que la diversit\u00e9 des approches plastiques, accentue l\u2019individualit\u00e9 de ces sept participantes et participants et d\u00e9voile la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 des chemins sur lesquels leur intuition cr\u00e9ative les a men\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Constitu\u00e9e d\u2019un amalgame de sources d\u2019inspiration et d\u2019id\u00e9es auxquelles s\u2019allient curiosit\u00e9 et vision de ce qui pourrait \u00eatre, l\u2019intuition poss\u00e8de la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;agir \u00e0 titre de puissant moteur m\u00e9taphorique au sein de l&rsquo;acte cr\u00e9atif. Frankie\u2019s distinctive designs intends\u00a0to offer the viewer a joyful,\u00a0elegant, intricate, and refined vibe.<\/p>\n<p>She constructs sculptural form with the intent of creating anew what is often considered useless, and unwanted. Through her art, Rousseau expresses her self-growth, which is inextricably tinted by her experiences of displacement and adaption to different cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Rousseau\u2019s main focus is to incorporate natural elements, mainly flowers and human bodies, into her compositions as symbols of her experiences of displacement. An expressionist influence can be sensed\u00a0in her use of bright colours as a means to depict forceful emotions. Through this technique, she visually renders the space she currently finds herself in. He uses photography as a means of self- expression, as a way of getting to know himself, by exposing hidden qualities in order to better understand his own reality and express his interpretation of the world. Gibbs\u2019 images represent surrounding beauty, capturing scenes that can never be replicated again since our world is constantly evolving and changing. The camera acts as a tool to create memories by probing unexplored worlds, places of curious self-expression, opening up new chances, new beginnings, and most importantly new stories.<\/p>\n<p>Gibbs\u2019 artworks often tie in his knowledge of art history as he explores different techniques and art movements (such as the photographs of Diane Arbus, Man Ray and Walker Evans among others), while also taking into account the historical representation and importance of the camera obscura and the invention of photography. He lives and creates in Sherbrooke, Qu\u00e9bec Canada. Influenced by phenomenology, he seeks, through digital photography, to create compositions that would allow such an experience to the viewers. More concretely, he uses minimal computer-generated effects, such as the rotation and reflection of four identical images around a central frame, to establish visual connections between copies of the same subject, allowing for harmonious cohesion, suggesting an immersive experience. Through this book-matching technique Breton is able to create a mirror effect that multiplies the initial surface towards infinity.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Breton believes that by fostering unexpected pictorial combinations, a single image can reveal new readings when rearranged as such. To enrich the vividness and deepen the study of this visual endeavour, Steve uses large format prints that help him channel the contemplative instance, promoting a solemn gaze as a means of activating consciousness and open-mindedness. The reconfiguration of the initial state of an image takes form, in his work, through a curious exploration of diverse approaches and a wide range of interests, mainly oriented towards representing inter-dimensional realities.
