Landscape, Cutout<\/em> (2015) met l’emphase sur la construction du monde qui nous entoure, et le r\u00f4le probl\u00e9matique que joue la vision dans ce caract\u00e8re construit du r\u00e9el. Dans cette vid\u00e9o, un plan fixe est d\u00e9coup\u00e9 suivant des divisions arbitraires dans le paysage repr\u00e9sent\u00e9, divisions qui ont une incidence sur notre perception. La luminosit\u00e9 et le contraste de chaque section d\u00e9coup\u00e9e sont ensuite modifi\u00e9s ind\u00e9pendamment des autres parties de l’image, ce qui module le paysage dans son ensemble et affecte sa profondeur de champ. Ces variations se d\u00e9roulent dans la lenteur, rendant la mall\u00e9abilit\u00e9 de l’image presqu’imperceptible.<\/p>\n

Annie Briard<\/strong> est une artiste Montr\u00e9alaise bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Vancouver. Sa pratique se penche sur la perception visuelle et ses id\u00e9ologies en ce qui a trait au r\u00e9el versus l\u2019imag\u00e9 et l\u2019imaginaire, sous l\u2019optique de l\u2019image en mouvement,\u00a0de la photographie et de l’art installatif.<\/p>\n

Ses \u0153uvres font l\u2019objet d\u2019expositions individuelles et de groupe \u00e0 travers le Canada et internationalement, incluant des galeries et festivals \u00e0 Paris, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, B\u00e2le et Beijing. Elle a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des r\u00e9sidences \u00e0 New York, au Centre Banff, en Espagne, en Islande, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 des \u00e9v\u00e9nements tels qu\u2019Art Souterrain (Montr\u00e9al)\u00a0et Capture Photography Festival (Vancouver). Ses expositions individuelles r\u00e9centes incluent \u2018\u2018Second Sight\u2019\u2019 \u00e0 la AC Institute \u00e0 New York, \u2018\u2018Paracosmic Sun\u201d \u00e0 la Galerie Monica Reyes et \u2018\u2018Sight Shifting\u2019\u2019 \u00e0 galerie Joyce Yahouda \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, entre autres. Briard est r\u00e9cipiendaire de bourses de projets du British Columbia Arts Council et du Conseil des Arts du Canada. En 2021, elle participera \u00e0 la Biennale Manif d\u2019art \u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n
