Empreint de finesse et travers\u00e9 de niveaux de sens, le travail de Clintberg chevauche diff\u00e9rents registres de discours\u00a0\u2013 des liens contractuels vers l\u2019intime, de la pens\u00e9e intellectuelle vers le flux des \u00e9motions. Par le truchement de savoir-faire traditionnels, de proc\u00e9d\u00e9s industriels, de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences en histoire de l\u2019art et de glissements linguistiques, Clintberg enchev\u00eatre des fragments historiques, des anecdotes culturelles et des fictions relationnelles dans une s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u0153uvres s\u00e9mantiquement denses. En filigrane se d\u00e9ploie une vaste trame d\u2019\u00e9changes et d\u2019exp\u00e9riences qui complexifient la contemplation des objets et en d\u00e9passent largement la beaut\u00e9 apparente. Le travail de Clintberg est r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur de plusieurs ambigu\u00eft\u00e9s\u00a0: de l\u2019intrication des dimensions professionnelle et affective dans les rapports intersubjectifs, de la d\u00e9limitation incertaine entre l\u2019art et l\u2019artisanat, de la fluidit\u00e9 de l\u2019identit\u00e9 dans les formations collectives et les projets de collaboration. Souvent rattach\u00e9es \u00e0 des contextes g\u00e9ographiques et culturels pr\u00e9cis, les \u0153uvres regroup\u00e9es dans cette exposition traversent m\u00e9taphoriquement le Canada, tant par leurs r\u00e9f\u00e9rences que par leurs lieux de production. S\u2019y ajoute le recours fr\u00e9quent au texte, par moment dans les deux langues officielles du pays, qui ancre plus encore la pratique de Clintberg dans les m\u00e9andres affectifs et identitaires de la communication. \u00c0 la fois conceptuel et contemplatif, ce corpus d\u2019\u0153uvres \u00e9voque des r\u00e9cits qui nous r\u00e9v\u00e8lent notre histoire, notre identit\u00e9, et notre besoin d\u2019\u00eatre en relation avec les autres.<\/p>\n

Il est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Pierre-Fran\u00e7ois Ouellette art contemporain et est professeur adjoint \u00e0 la School of Critical and Creative Studies de l\u2019Alberta College of Art and Design. Il a obtenu un doctorat en histoire de l\u2019art de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Concordia en 2013. Sa th\u00e8se lui a d\u2019ailleurs valu une s\u00e9lection pour la m\u00e9daille acad\u00e9mique du Gouverneur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral 2013. Ses \u0153uvres se retrouvent dans des collections publiques et priv\u00e9es au Canada et aux \u00c9tats-Unis, notamment au Mus\u00e9e des beaux-arts du Canada, \u00e0 l\u2019Edmonton Arts Council et \u00e0 l\u2019Alberta Foundation for the Arts. Son travail fait actuellement l\u2019objet de collaborations avec Truck Gallery (Calgary), Root Division (San Francisco) et The Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists (Edmonton). Clintberg a \u00e9t\u00e9 finaliste du Prix Sobey pour les arts 2013, repr\u00e9sentant la r\u00e9gion des Prairies et du Nord.
