Depuis une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es, Maryse Goudreau porte son attention sur le b\u00e9luga en \u00e9rigeant autour d\u2019elle une \u0153uvre-archive lui \u00e9tant consacr\u00e9e. Engag\u00e9e \u00e0 accompagner l\u2019animal pendant son lent d\u00e9clin sur une p\u00e9riode d\u2019au moins vingt ans, l\u2019artiste gasp\u00e9sienne lui d\u00e9die une s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u0153uvres photographiques, sonores, litt\u00e9raires et sculpturales qui posent un regard charg\u00e9 d\u2019empathie envers cette esp\u00e8ce sentinelle des changements climatiques de la nordicit\u00e9. Sous l\u2019invitation de la commissaire No\u00e9mie Fortin, elle revisite ce corpus avec les yeux d\u2019une enfant pour cr\u00e9er des \u0153uvres immersives o\u00f9 la mise au monde et l\u2019extinction cohabitent. L\u2019artiste puise dans l\u2019amour qu\u2019elle porte pour l\u2019animal depuis son plus jeune \u00e2ge et trouve dans le jeu une fa\u00e7on de naviguer \u00e0 travers les sentiments de deuil et d\u2019espoir qui l\u2019animent.<\/p>\n

L\u2019exposition d\u00e9di\u00e9e aux publics jeunesse Dans l\u2019\u0153il du b\u00e9luga<\/em> met en sc\u00e8ne des dispositifs installatifs faisant appel \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute, au toucher et au jeu, dans un effort de restaurer les modes de relations animistes qui caract\u00e9risent l\u2019enfance. Adoptant une approche \u00e9cof\u00e9ministe, Maryse Goudreau reconna\u00eet l\u2019importance d\u2019une filiation inter-esp\u00e8ces pour prendre soin du vivant au-del\u00e0 du monde de l\u2019humain et propose le concept de maternance comme un antidote \u00e0 la destruction du territoire et des \u00eatres qui l\u2019habitent. Elle construit un sanctuaire d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019animal et utilise des images empreintes de bienveillance comme celles d\u2019une pouponni\u00e8re de b\u00e9lugas et de cercles d\u2019\u00e9coute de chants de baleine, afin de susciter la curiosit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire pour r\u00e9enchanter la suite du monde. En nous invitant \u00e0 s\u2019immerger \u00e0 notre tour dans l\u2019univers du mammif\u00e8re marin, \u00e0 se refl\u00e9ter\u00a0dans\u00a0la rencontre avec l\u2019animal et avec ceux et celles qui en prennent soin pour prendre conscience des impacts de sa disparition imminente, elle nous pousse \u00e0 changer de perspective pour voir le monde \u00e0 travers l\u2019\u0153il d\u2019un b\u00e9luga.<\/p>\n

Maryse Goudreau<\/strong> est artiste, autrice, cin\u00e9aste et chercheuse ind\u00e9pendante. Elle r\u00e9alise des oeuvres o\u00f9 se croisent images, documents, gestes de soin artistique et participatifs. Hybride, sa cr\u00e9ation traverse la photographie mais aussi l\u2019essai vid\u00e9ographique et photographique interactif, des dispositifs immersifs, l\u2019art action, ou encore l\u2019art sonore.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Depuis 2012, elle cr\u00e9e une archive d\u00e9di\u00e9e au b\u00e9luga. Elle la constitue comme une oeuvre ouverte pour laquelle elle assemble des donn\u00e9es et des cr\u00e9ations multiples, qui sont amen\u00e9es \u00e0 se d\u00e9velopper sur deux d\u00e9cennies. Maryse Goudreau investit le champ de l\u2019art \u00e0 port\u00e9e sociale avec plusieurs projets participatifs sur la p\u00e9ninsule gasp\u00e9sienne o\u00f9 elle vit, incluant <\/span>Manifestation pour la m\u00e9moire des quais<\/span><\/i> et <\/span>Festival du tank d\u2019Escuminac \u2013 premi\u00e8re et derni\u00e8re \u00e9dition<\/span><\/i>.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ses plus r\u00e9centes expositions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es \u00e0 : MOMENTA Biennale de l\u2019image (Montr\u00e9al, 2021), la Biennale de Venise (Pavillon du Centre PHI de Montr\u00e9al, 2019), Dazibao (Montr\u00e9al), Le Museo de la Cancilleria \/ Instituto Matias Romero (Mexico), Centro de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo Wifredo Lam (La Havane, Cuba) et au Mus\u00e9e des beaux-arts de Montr\u00e9al. Plusieurs prix lui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cern\u00e9s, dont le Prix Lynne-Cohen (2017) en partenariat avec le Mus\u00e9e national des beaux-arts du Qu\u00e9bec. Commissaire ind\u00e9pendante, autrice et travailleuse culturelle, No\u00e9mie Fortin<\/strong> est originaire de Lac-M\u00e9gantic et bas\u00e9e dans les Cantons-de-l\u2019Est.
En voie de compl\u00e9ter sa ma\u00eetrise en histoire de l\u2019art \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Concordia, elle concentre ses recherches sur l\u2019art \u00e9cologique qui sort des institutions pour aller \u00e0 la rencontre des territoires et des communaut\u00e9s. Elle porte une attention particuli\u00e8re aux projets r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en milieux ruraux, qui servent de terrain fertile pour aborder diff\u00e9rentes probl\u00e9matiques environnementales de fa\u00e7on situ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Depuis 2017, ses projets de commissariat prennent principalement racine \u00e0 la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Bishop\u2019s ainsi qu\u2019au 3e Imp\u00e9rial, centre d\u2019essai en art actuel. Ses \u00e9crits ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s dans diverses revues sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, dont Esse arts + opinion, Vie des Arts, Ciel variable et The Goose: A Journal of Arts, Environment, and Culture in Canada<\/em>. En tant que travailleuse culturelle, elle a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tablissement du programme \u00e9ducatif de la Fondation Grantham pour l\u2019art et l\u2019environnement avant de porter la mission du Laboratoire communautaire d\u2019art (ArtLab<\/a>) de la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman.<\/p>\n
