Durant la r\u00e9sidence ArtLab 2025-26, Romeo Gongora d\u00e9veloppe un projet autour des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s v\u00e9cues par les diasporas guat\u00e9malt\u00e8ques en Estrie, en partenariat avec AIDE \u2013 Actions interculturelles de d\u00e9veloppement et d\u2019\u00e9ducation<\/a>, un organisme communautaire de Sherbrooke engag\u00e9 pour l\u2019inclusion et les droits des personnes immigrantes et r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es. Ensemble, l\u2019artiste et son partenaire d\u00e9veloppent une\u00a0d\u00e9marche de recherche-action participative avec des travailleuses et travailleurs \u00e9trangers temporaires guat\u00e9malt\u00e8ques de la r\u00e9gion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00c0 travers des ateliers de cocr\u00e9ation, l\u2019artiste explore la trace invisible du travail migrant qui habite notre quotidien. Les rencontres enregistr\u00e9es offriront au public une exp\u00e9rience sensible de la migration, dans une approche d\u00e9coloniale attentive \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire, aux voix minoris\u00e9es et aux liens diasporiques.
Le projet cherche \u00e0 faire \u00e9merger des espaces de co-cr\u00e9ation et de dialogue, o\u00f9 les r\u00e9cits d\u2019exp\u00e9riences migratoires deviennent mati\u00e8re \u00e0 transmission, \u00e0 m\u00e9moire et \u00e0 \u0153uvre. En tissant des liens entre l\u2019espace d\u2019art, les communaut\u00e9s locales et la diaspora guat\u00e9malt\u00e8que, R\u00e9cits guat\u00e9malt\u00e8ques en Estrie interroge la visibilit\u00e9, la dignit\u00e9 et la place des voix migrantes dans le tissu social et culturel de l\u2019Estrie<\/p>\n

Romeo Gongora <\/strong>est artiste visuel et professeur \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole des arts visuels et m\u00e9diatiques de l\u2019UQAM. N\u00e9 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al de parents guat\u00e9malt\u00e8ques, il d\u00e9veloppe une pratique artistique participative ancr\u00e9e dans les enjeux sociaux, les exp\u00e9riences diasporiques et les approches d\u00e9coloniales. Ses projets prennent la forme d\u2019ateliers collaboratifs, de performances, de publications et d\u2019installations qui mettent en valeur les voix et les savoirs des communaut\u00e9s diasporiques. Directeur du Laboratoire d\u2019art et de recherche d\u00e9coloniaux<\/a> (LabARD), il collabore avec des chercheur.e.s, artistes et organismes au Canada et \u00e0 l\u2019international. Sa d\u00e9marche vise \u00e0 construire des espaces de cocr\u00e9ation o\u00f9 l\u2019art devient un outil de m\u00e9moire et de transformation collective.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Camila V\u00e1squez\u202f<\/strong>est une artiste interdisciplinaire d\u2019origine chilienne. Elle vit et travaille \u00e0 la campagne, au Qu\u00e9bec, en Estrie, sur des terres ancestrales de la Nation W8banaki. Elle \u0153uvre dans le milieu des arts depuis 2005 en tant qu\u2019artiste, enseignante, commissaire, m\u00e9diatrice et travailleuse culturelle. Sa pratique artistique s\u2019incarne \u00e0 m\u00eame la vie quotidienne et se d\u00e9veloppe dans des projets de longue haleine qui remettent en cause les fronti\u00e8res s\u00e9parant l\u2019art des autres sph\u00e8res de la vie, tout comme les conceptions dominantes de l\u2019espace social et de la connaissance. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans divers centres d\u2019art, galeries et \u00e9v\u00e9nements en Argentine, au Chili, en Espagne et au Qu\u00e9bec, dont le 3e imp\u00e9rial centre d\u2019essais en art actuel, le Centre d\u2019art Rozynski, la Galerie B-312, la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman, Praxis art actuel, P\u00e9ristyle Nomade, VIVA! Art Action et DARE-DARE, ainsi que de mani\u00e8re autonome ou furtive. Depuis 2022, elle est coordonnatrice du Laboratoire communautaire d\u2019art de la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Bishop\u2019s.<\/p>\n
