La pratique conceptuelle et sculpturale de l\u2019artiste albertain Jason de Haan met en \u00e9vidence la densit\u00e9 diachronique de la nature et du monde physique. Usant d\u2019une approche crois\u00e9e entre la sculpture, le collage, le dessin, la photographie, la vid\u00e9o et le texte, de Haan explore l\u2019archivage du temps dans la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 plan\u00e9taire et relie ce temps profond \u00e0 celui de l’histoire culturelle. Symboliquement denses et complexes, ses \u0153uvres traduisent une fascination pour la mythologie, la science-fiction, la g\u00e9ologie et les sites g\u00e9ographiques empreints de forces \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre en-de\u00e7\u00e0 du seuil de perception.<\/p>\n

Profond\u00e9ment h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8ne et impossible \u00e0 classifier, le travail de Jason de Haan se place d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment dans le flux \u00e9volutif, afin d’interrompre le cours du temps par des gestes artistiques qui r\u00e9sonnent avec le romantisme, le sublime et la po\u00e9sie. De Haan met m\u00e9ticuleusement en \u00e9vidence le mouvement, la transformation, la r\u00e9sonnance ou le scintillement des choses \u00e0 une \u00e9chelle si microscopique que nos sens sont incapables de les percevoir. Pour de Haan, notre position \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re au sein du dialogue \u00e9pique des \u00e9chelles de temps \u00e9volutives, associ\u00e9e \u00e0 des merveilles naturelles et surnaturelles, offre un espace productif pour r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 la difficult\u00e9 de percevoir l’invisible et d\u00e9crire des r\u00e9gimes de distances incommensurables.<\/p>\n

Jason de Haan<\/strong> (n\u00e9 en 1981) est un artiste canadien multidisciplinaire qui travaille dans les domaines de l’installation, de la sculpture, de la vid\u00e9o, du dessin, du collage, de la photographie et du livre d’art. Son travail explore les espaces incertains et inattendus, les flux temporels, les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes et syst\u00e8mes naturels, les transmissions et les chronologies ouvertes, en mettant l’accent sur les points o\u00f9 l’invisible et le r\u00e9siduel r\u00e9v\u00e8lent leurs contingences.<\/p>\n

De Haan a obtenu une ma\u00eetrise en beaux-arts au Bard College, \u00e0 Annandale-on-Hudson, en 2015.
