\u00c0 l’occasion de la 28e exposition des \u00e9tudiants dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s en beaux-arts de l’Universit\u00e9 Bishop’s, les jeunes artistes pr\u00e9sentent un ensemble d’\u0153uvres vari\u00e9es qui refl\u00e8tent leur parcours tout au long du programme de premier cycle. Au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, ils se sont explor\u00e9s et ont trouv\u00e9 leur voie \u00e0 travers divers moyens d’expression artistique. Ils quittent aujourd’hui Bishop’s transform\u00e9s, avec une compr\u00e9hension plus profonde de leurs pratiques artistiques, celles-ci \u00e9tant fermement ancr\u00e9es dans leur identit\u00e9, leurs perspectives et leurs modes d’expression.<\/p>\n

She received her Fine Arts diploma from the C\u00e9gep de Sherbrooke where her artwork Douceur (2021) was chosen as a finalist in the Intercollegiate Visual Arts Competition.<\/p>\n

Currently studying Fine Arts at Bishop\u2019s, where she completed an internship at the Foreman Art Gallery, Flynn is anticipated to graduate with Honors while continuously working on her own business, Little Town Tattoo. After graduation, Flynn will decide whether to stay in the Eastern Townships or begin a new adventure.<\/p>\n

Her artwork, mainly paintings, can be found displayed in caf\u00e9s, museums, restaurants, and schools in her hometown. She has also exhibited her work at the C\u00e9gep de Sherbrooke and Bishop\u2019s University.<\/p>\n

Michel Gagn\u00e9<\/strong> is a Canadian artist born and based in Sherbrooke, where he is in the process of completing his Bachelor’s, majoring in Fine Arts (Honors) at Bishop’s.<\/p>\n

His artwork can be best described as diverse as he is constantly searching for new mediums and innovative ways of presenting his art. Through his works, one can sense his love of nature, always aiming to communicate his sentiments to the viewer whether through ink drawings of trees or sculptures of repurposed wood. His art also serves as a conduit for his moral and political viewpoints.<\/p>\n

His work has been exhibited frequently in Sherbrooke and is included in many private collections.<\/p>\n

Ava Irving-Staley<\/strong> is an artist from Whitehorse, Yukon. She is in her third year of studies, completing the Education in the Fine Arts program. Upon graduation she plans on becoming an art educator and sharing her passion for the arts through teaching.<\/p>\n

Ava enjoys exploring new mediums and getting inspired by the world around her. She creates through drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, papermaking, crafting, and is always excited to learn a new technique or incorporate a new medium. Ava likes using bright colors in her work.<\/p>\n

Recently, she has been exploring the representation of landscapes through watercolor painting and becoming proficient in sculpture and papermaking.<\/p>\n

Lydia Jarret<\/strong> is a Canadian artist whose life and works are based in Centre-du-Qu\u00e9bec. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Studio Fine Arts at Bishop\u2019s University, following her completion of a DEC in Fine Arts from C\u00e9gep de Drummondville in 2021. Throughout her academic journey, Lydia has refined her artistic voice, focusing on the exploration of contrasts and the merging of opposites, a concept that has become central to her practice. Her work delves into themes of balance and harmony, often addressing stereotypes and daily situations drawn from personal experience.<\/p>\n

Lydia has been featured in notable exhibitions, including the HUMAN exhibition at C\u00e9gep de Drummondville and Iris at Maison des Arts Desjardins, Drummondville.<\/p>\n

RIvi\u00e8re (Chlo\u00e9 Larivi\u00e8re<\/strong>) was born in 1998 in Repentigny, Qu\u00e9bec, Canada. She is currently based in the Eastern Townships. Academically, she has always been oriented towards the arts, earning her several awards for her artistic personality. Having studied theater and outdoor studies, she is now exploring her creative expression by studying Fine Arts at Bishop’s. Her artistic interests revolve around sculpture and watercolor, drawing inspiration from her various outdoor adventures. Her commitment to the arts led to a scholarship from Bishop’s University to participate in the Haystack Mountain School of Craft in June 2024.<\/p>\n

Jacob Legouffe<\/strong> is an Indigenous artist currently based in the Eastern townships. He was born in the Gasp\u00e9 region and has a strong connection with rural living and untamed nature itself. He is projected to graduate from Bishop\u2019s in Fine Arts (Honours) in the summer of 2025. Jacob has been classically trained and uses his education as well as his knowledge of Indigenous art making practices throughout the world to create fresh and exciting contemporary works. His practice is primarily based around painting and sculptural work, with the latter taking a contemporary approach in using materials such as textiles, wood, and thread.<\/p>\n

One of his sculptures was selected for the Fresh Paint and New Construction exhibition (2024) at the Art M\u00fbr Gallery. Jacob\u2019s work can also be found in private collections.<\/p>\n

After growing up in Ottawa, the nation\u2019s capital, Avery Piche<\/strong> pursued her studies in Fine Arts in the Eastern Townships and is now in the final year of her degree. Having started her studies in Art History, Avery pivoted toward the Fine Arts department as she was drawn to the creative exploration of a variety of mediums. As her artistic practice evolves, Avery has chosen to devote her creativity to textile and fiber art, working mostly with yarn and fabrics. She looks forward to continuing to work with these materials post-graduation, hoping to invest time and expertise in working in slow fashion and garment creation.<\/p>\n

Andra Denver Quilliams<\/strong> is a third-year Fine Arts and Education student. She prides herself in being a \u2018Townshipper\u2019, raised in the mountains near Knowlton, Quebec.<\/p>\n

For her entire life Andra has been known as an artist. This is not only because of her passion for creating art, but also because of her imagination. Her biggest inspiration is the enchantment of nature and fantasy.<\/p>\n

Originally from Paris, France, Alannah Stein<\/strong> is completing her degree in Arts Administration and Fine Arts (Honours). Specializing in abstract works, she invites the audience to explore hidden meanings within her art. Her primary mediums are painting, printmaking, and photography, often drawing inspiration from modern art movements and personal experiences.<\/p>\n

Passionate about curating, Alannah aims to make art accessible to diverse audiences and will pursue graduate studies in museum studies. She participates in the grad show to share her artistic journey.<\/p>\n

Passionate about watercolor, gouache, acrylic and recently ink, with a penchant for drawing, and printmaking, Fabienne van de Rydt<\/strong> will soon graduate with a Fine Arts Major (Honours) from Bishop\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Born in Sorel to a Belgian father and a Japanese mother, Fabienne, at times, feels a sense of belonging from around the planet as she has inhabited four continents. Her artistic practice revolves around her admiration of nature. Her art is inspired by poems, music, songs and anime. She strives to capture the fleeting essence passing before her inner eyes.<\/p>\n

As a student, Fabienne was awarded the 2023 McConnell Fund for support of a Watercolour Workshop, a shod\u014d Workshop and a Montessori certificate.
