A pesar de la tentaci\u00f3n de ir a echarnos a un parque, ah\u00ed est\u00e1bamos, concentradas y l\u00facidas, reflexionando juntas, haci\u00e9ndonos preguntas y dej\u00e1ndolas sin respuestas. Entre l\u00e1pices de colores, revistas, libros, papeles y dibujos pegados a las paredes, fotos y fechas l\u00edmite de postulaci\u00f3n (que nos recuerdan que los plazos se cumplen inevitablemente), retomamos una conversaci\u00f3n que hab\u00edamos iniciado varios meses antes, cuando, conmovidas e interconectadas por un enigm\u00e1tico hilo invisible, hablamos por primera vez de su obra <em>FatherDaughter<\/em> (2022). Se trata de una performance en la que Florencia trabaj\u00f3 con su padre, inici\u00e1ndolo en ese universo que a \u00e9l le resultaba lejano y, al comienzo, incomprensible, transmiti\u00e9ndole sus conocimientos y su experiencia. El gesto es simple y repetitivo: ambos caminan en c\u00edrculos conc\u00e9ntricos, cruzando miradas y, al mismo tiempo, siguiendo sus respectivas trayectorias, en una cancha de f\u00fatbol, vestidos con ropa deportiva. La carga simb\u00f3lica se vuelve m\u00e1s compleja, espesa, cuando se comprende que \u00e9l era profesor de educaci\u00f3n f\u00edsica en Argentina. Profesi\u00f3n que nunca pudo ejercer tras inmigrar a Quebec. No es de extra\u00f1ar, entonces, que se me llenaran los ojos de l\u00e1grimas al ver el v\u00eddeo de esa performance, siendo yo misma parte de la di\u00e1spora latinoamericana.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\u00a0\u00bb1_2&Prime; _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.19.5&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.2&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Observations et r\u00e9flexions de la commissaire<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.2&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Septembre 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il faisait une chaleur de plomb dans l&rsquo;atelier de Florencia Sosa Rey en cet apr\u00e8s-midi de la mi-septembre \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al. Malgr\u00e9 la tentation d&rsquo;aller l\u00e9zarder dans un parc, nous \u00e9tions l\u00e0, concentr\u00e9es et lucides, \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir ensemble, \u00e0 nous poser des questions et \u00e0 les laisser sans r\u00e9ponse. Entre les crayons de couleur, les magazines, les livres, les papiers et les dessins coll\u00e9s aux murs, les photos et les deadlines de dossiers (qui nous rappellent que les \u00e9ch\u00e9ances arrivent in\u00e9vitablement), nous avons repris une conversation entam\u00e9e quelques mois plus t\u00f4t, lorsque, \u00e9mues et reli\u00e9es par un \u00e9nigmatique fil invisible, nous avons parl\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois de son \u0153uvre <em>FatherDaughter<\/em> (2022). Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une performance dans laquelle Florencia a travaill\u00e9 avec son p\u00e8re, l&rsquo;initiant \u00e0 cet univers lointain et, au d\u00e9but, incompr\u00e9hensible pour lui, lui transmettant ses connaissances et son exp\u00e9rience. Le geste est simple et r\u00e9p\u00e9titif : tous deux marchent en cercles concentriques, croisant leurs regards et suivant \u00e0 la fois leurs trajectoires respectives, sur un terrain de football, en tenue de sport. La charge symbolique se complexifie, s&rsquo;\u00e9paissit, lorsqu&rsquo;on r\u00e9alise qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait professeur d&rsquo;\u00e9ducation physique en Argentine. Profession qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;a jamais pu exercer apr\u00e8s avoir immigr\u00e9 au Qu\u00e9bec. Porque Florencia se mueve entre esos dos mundos y a m\u00ed me intriga c\u00f3mo compartir con el p\u00fablico la experiencia de dar o participar en un taller, y si es posible hacerlo conservando la autenticidad del proceso creativo, tan lejos del resultado final. He sido testigo de la vulnerabilidad y el coraje con el que artistas y participantes se entregan plenamente a la experiencia de crear en el transcurso de un taller. Ese registro me interpela, por el potencial de expresi\u00f3n lo que lo distingue de un espect\u00e1culo o de una presentaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Conversamos sobre algunas propuestas que exploran de manera experimental esta zona ambigua entre lo que se define como obra o como pr\u00e1ctica: El ensayo abierto en danza contempor\u00e1nea, seguido de un debate con el p\u00fablico; Un festival en el que no se trataba de performances en s\u00ed, sino de un periodo de pr\u00e1ctica de ejercicios performativos con p\u00fablico (Festival AVEC, Sherbrooke, 2024); Un evento en el que se alternaban performances y talleres y en el que los miembros del p\u00fablico eran a la vez p\u00fablico y participantes (Studio 303, Montreal, 2024); el v\u00eddeo <em>In Spite of the Score<\/em> de Julia E Dyck (2023), que era un taller de sonido al que Florencia asisti\u00f3 y en el que la gente que participaba era tambi\u00e9n int\u00e9rprete en el v\u00eddeo.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\u00a0\u00bb1_2&Prime; _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.25.0&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.27.2&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p>La question qui nous r\u00e9unissait en ce chaud apr\u00e8s-midi portait aussi sur la transmission des savoirs et sur la mani\u00e8re d&rsquo;explorer la porosit\u00e9 entre ce que nous consid\u00e9rons comme une \u0153uvre d&rsquo;art formelle et la pratique de l&rsquo;animation d&rsquo;ateliers artistiques. Car Florencia \u00e9volue entre ces deux mondes et, pour ma part, je suis intrigu\u00e9e par comment partager avec le public l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience d&rsquo;animer ou de participer \u00e0 un atelier, et s&rsquo;il est possible de le faire en pr\u00e9servant l&rsquo;authenticit\u00e9 du processus cr\u00e9atif, si loin du r\u00e9sultat final. J&rsquo;ai \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moin de la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et du courage avec lesquels artistes et participant\u00b7es se livrent pleinement \u00e0 l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de cr\u00e9ation au cours d&rsquo;un atelier. Un enfoque result\u00f3 central: Explorar sus ra\u00edces culturales sudamericanas desde la distancia y en diferido, manteniendo el car\u00e1cter experimental del proyecto y alej\u00e1ndose del documental. Por ejemplo: \u00bfc\u00f3mo reapropiarse del folclore a trav\u00e9s de la abstracci\u00f3n? \u00bfBailar sin bailar? \u00bfCrear ritmos sin instrumentos? O, sino (o m\u00e1s bien, y tambi\u00e9n), explorar por el contacto silencioso y profundo con los caballos y la equiterapia el pasado campesino de su abuelo fallecido, como un medio de acercarse a la herencia sociocultural de su pa\u00eds de origen, en ausencia de la transmisi\u00f3n oral de una tradici\u00f3n familiar desaparecida. Proceso que Florencia hab\u00eda comenzado durante una residencia de artista en la regi\u00f3n de Catamarca, en Argentina, en el marco del proyecto <em>Te devuelvo la mirada<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0\u00a1Tenemos algo!\u00a0\u00bb, me dice Florencia con una sonrisa en la cara. Une piste est apparue comme centrale : explorer \u00e0 distance et en diff\u00e9r\u00e9 ses racines culturelles sud-am\u00e9ricaines, en conservant le caract\u00e8re exp\u00e9rimental du projet et en prenant de la distance avec le documentaire. Par exemple : comment se r\u00e9approprier le folklore par l&rsquo;abstraction, danser sans danser, cr\u00e9er des rythmes sans instruments ? Ou, sinon (ou plut\u00f4t, et aussi), explorer par un contact silencieux et profond avec les chevaux et l&rsquo;\u00e9quith\u00e9rapie le pass\u00e9 paysan de son grand-p\u00e8re d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9, comme moyen d&rsquo;approcher le patrimoine socioculturel de son pays d&rsquo;origine, en l&rsquo;absence de la transmission orale d&rsquo;une tradition familiale disparue. Un processus que Florencia avait entam\u00e9 lors d&rsquo;une r\u00e9sidence d&rsquo;artiste dans la r\u00e9gion de Catamarca, en Argentine, dans le cadre du projet <em>Te devuelvo la mirada <\/em>[Je te renvoie le regard].<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nous avons quelque chose ! \u00bb, s&rsquo;exclame-t-elle en souriant.
