Pour la r\u00e9sidence ArtLab 2024-2025, \u00e0 titre de commissaire, Camila V\u00e1squez invite l\u2019artiste Florencia Sosa Rey \u00e0 se pencher sur la porosit\u00e9 entre sa pratique de facilitation de workshops et la dimension formelle de sa cr\u00e9ation. Et si le workshop devenait \u0153uvre en soi? Comment l\u2019exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue par des participants et participantes peut-elle \u00eatre communiqu\u00e9e au public et est-ce r\u00e9ellement possible de la partager? Ancr\u00e9e dans des pratiques corporelles et des p\u00e9dagogies alternatives, cette r\u00e9sidence tente d\u2019explorer les espaces liminaux entre le processus de cr\u00e9ation et la transmission de connaissances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prenant comme point de d\u00e9part la campagne <\/span>de l\u2019Estrie <\/span>et le pass\u00e9 paysan de sa famille paternelle, elle a entrepris d\u2019explorer<\/span> ses racines culturelles<\/span> \u00e0 distance et en diff\u00e9r\u00e9. S\u2019appuyant sur des m\u00e9thodologies exp\u00e9rimentales et participatives, elle a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 deux axes de recherche : d’une part, se rapprocher d’une tradition familiale disparue, qui ne lui a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 transmise, par le biais du contact avec les chevaux, et d’autre part, revisiter le patrimoine socioculturel de son pays d’origine, l’Argentine, \u00e0 travers le folklore.<\/span> De ces explorations d\u00e9coulent des dessins et des \u0153uvres vid\u00e9ographiques qui t\u00e9moignent d’un processus \u00e0 la fois r\u00e9flexif et formel, marqu\u00e9 par de longues p\u00e9riodes d’observation donnant lieu \u00e0 des \u0153uvres hybrides et m\u00e9tiss\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n

Florencia Sosa Rey<\/strong>\u00a0\u0153uvre en arts visuels et se base \u00e0 Tiohti\u00e0:ke\/ Mooniyang\/ Montr\u00e9al. Par une approche multidisciplinaire ancr\u00e9e dans une sensibilit\u00e9 corporelle, c\u2019est principalement \u00e0 travers le dessin abstrait, l\u2019art performance et la vid\u00e9o que Florencia Sosa Rey articule des questions sur l\u2019histoire socioculturelle que porte son corps. Consid\u00e9rant la solidarit\u00e9 et la nostalgie comme ressources r\u00e9flexives pour se pencher sur l\u2019hybridit\u00e9 identitaire, Florencia pr\u00eate une attention particuli\u00e8re aux espaces physiques et psychiques habit\u00e9s par la distance dans la transmission de savoirs et des liens interpersonnels. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 la Fonderie Darling, Fondation Phi, au centre Plein Sud, Livart ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 Toronto, Sudbury, en Islande, et en Argentine. En septembre 2025, Florencia pr\u00e9sente un solo \u00e0 la Galerie Foreman et participe \u00e0 une exposition collective \u00e0 DRAC. Camila V\u00e1squez<\/strong>\u202fest une artiste interdisciplinaire d’origine chilienne. Elle vit et travaille \u00e0 la campagne, au Qu\u00e9bec, en Estrie, sur des terres ancestrales de la Nation W8banaki. Elle \u0153uvre dans le milieu des arts depuis 2005 en tant qu\u2019artiste, enseignante, commissaire, m\u00e9diatrice et travailleuse culturelle. Sa pratique artistique s\u2019incarne \u00e0 m\u00eame la vie quotidienne et se d\u00e9veloppe dans des projets de longue haleine qui remettent en cause les fronti\u00e8res s\u00e9parant l’art des autres sph\u00e8res de la vie, tout comme les conceptions dominantes de l\u2019espace social et de la connaissance. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans divers centres d\u2019art, galeries et \u00e9v\u00e9nements en Argentine, au Chili, en Espagne et au Qu\u00e9bec, dont le 3e imp\u00e9rial centre d\u2019essais en art actuel, le Centre d’art Rozynski, la Galerie B-312, la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman, Praxis art actuel, P\u00e9ristyle Nomade, VIVA! Art Action et DARE-DARE, ainsi que de mani\u00e8re autonome ou furtive. Depuis 2022, elle est coordonnatrice du Laboratoire communautaire d\u2019art de la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Bishop\u2019s.<\/p>\n
