L\u2019exposition <\/span>Marginalia <\/span><\/i>s\u2019int\u00e9resse aux r\u00e9cits dont la pr\u00e9sence spectrale persiste en marge des histoires officielles. Celia Perrin Sidarous sonde dans ce corpus in\u00e9dit l\u2019h\u00e9ritage mixte de sa famille, en portant une attention particuli\u00e8re aux bribes m\u00e9morielles qui s\u2019activent en filigrane des souvenirs dominants, \u00e0 l\u2019image des corps flottants et autres chim\u00e8res qui s\u2019animent parfois dans le champ p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique de la vision. Compos\u00e9e d\u2019un cycle filmique en sept chapitres pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 en diptyque asynchrone sur deux moniteurs de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, d\u2019\u0153uvres photographiques et d\u2019artefacts \u00e0 l\u2019identit\u00e9 ambigu\u00eb (amphores, coquilles, noyaux et autres menus objets), <\/span>Marginalia <\/span><\/i>cultive le caract\u00e8re all\u00e9gorique des natures mortes dans une installation soigneusement mise en sc\u00e8ne afin d\u2019\u00e9voquer le pouvoir haptique des objets comme r\u00e9ceptacles de la m\u00e9moire. Sur le mod\u00e8le d\u2019une fouille arch\u00e9ologique officieuse et d\u00e9licate, les archives familiales de l\u2019artiste sont fourrag\u00e9es afin d\u2019en r\u00e9v\u00e9ler le sous-texte, ce qui peine \u00e0 affleurer \u00e0 la surface de la conscience. Il en \u00e9merge un r\u00e9cit ouvert, aux temporalit\u00e9s crois\u00e9es, incarn\u00e9 dans la sensorialit\u00e9 des objets sculpturaux dispos\u00e9s en tableaux sc\u00e9nographiques, manipul\u00e9s scrupuleusement par des mains anonymes et attentivement scrut\u00e9s par l\u2019\u0153il de la cam\u00e9ra.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celia Perrin Sidarous<\/strong> (1982) est une artiste de l\u2019image qui vit et travaille \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al. Ses \u0153uvres ont fait l\u2019objet de nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives notamment au Mus\u00e9e McCord, \u00e0 Bradley Ertaskiran et au Centre CLARK (Montr\u00e9al), \u00e0 la Galerie Prince Takamado de l\u2019Ambassade du Canada (Tokyo), au Norsk Billedhoggerforening (Oslo), au CONTACT Photography Festival (Toronto) et au FOCUS Photography Festival (Mumbai), \u00e0 8-11 (Toronto), Arsenal Contemporary (New York), Esker Foundation (Calgary), Dunlop Art Gallery (Regina), Banff Centre (Banff), WWTWO (Montr\u00e9al), VU (Qu\u00e9bec) et Gallery 44 (Toronto). Son travail a fait partie de la Biennale de Montr\u00e9al 2016 \u2013 Le Grand Balcon, au Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art contemporain de Montr\u00e9al. Elle est l\u2019une des cinq laur\u00e9ates du Prix en art actuel MNBAQ 2023, offert par le Mus\u00e9e national des beaux-arts du Qu\u00e9bec. En 2019, elle est nomin\u00e9e au Prix Sobey pour les arts. Elle est laur\u00e9ate du Prix Pierre-Ayot 2017 ainsi que de la bourse Barbara Spohr Memorial Award 2011. Ses \u0153uvres figurent au sein de collections publiques et priv\u00e9es, dont celles de la AGO \u2013 Art Gallery of Ontario, du Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art contemporain de Montr\u00e9al, du Mus\u00e9e des beaux-arts de Montr\u00e9al et de la Walter Phillips Gallery.
